Death & Afterlife in Hinduism.....!

Death & Afterlife

No other religion deals with this topic like Hinduism. Upanishads describe reincarnation, or punarjanma .

The Bhagavat Gita, an important book for Hinduism, talks extensively about the afterlife. Here, the Lord Krishna says that just as a man discards his old clothes and wears new ones; similarly the soul discards the old body and takes on a new one. In Hinduism, the belief is
that the body is but a shell, the soul inside is immutable and indestructible and takes on different lives in a cycle of birth and death. The end of this cycle is called "Moksha" or salvation.

Garuda Purana, a book solely deals with what happens to a person after death. The God of Death Yama sends his representatives to collect the soul from a person's body whenever he is due for death and they take the soul to Yama. A record of each person's timings & deeds performed by him is kept in a ledger by Yama's assistant "Chitragupta".

According to the Garuda Purana, a soul after leaving the body, travels through a very long & dark tunnel towards South. This is why an oil lamp is lit and kept beside the head of the corpse, to light the dark tunnel and allow the soul to travel comfortably.

The soul, called "Atman" leaves the body and reincarnates itself according to the deeds or Karma performed by one in last birth. Re-birth would be in form of animals or other lower creatures if one performed bad Karmas and in human form in a good family with joyous lifetime if the person was good in last birth. In between the two births a human is also required to either face punishments for bad Karmas in "NARKA" or "HELL" or enjoy for the good karmas in SWARG or Heaven for good deeds. Whenever his or her punishments or rewards are over he or she is sent back to earth, also known as "Mrityulok" or World of Death. A person is merged with the God or ultimate power when he discharges only & only good Karma's in last birth and the same is called as "Moksha" or "Nirvana", which is the ultimate goal of a true Hindu.Atma (Soul) merges into "Parmatma" or the greatest soul.According to Bhagwad Gita an "Atma" or soul never dies, what dies is the body only made of five elements - Earth, Sky, Water, Fire & Vacuum. Soul is believed to be indestructible.None of the five elements can harm or influence it.Hinduism through Garuda Purana also describes in detail various types of "Narkas" or Hells where a person after death is punished for his bad Karma's and dealt with accordingly.

Hindus also believe in 'Karma'. 'Karma' is the accumulated sums of one's good or bad deeds. According to Hinduism the basic concept of Karma is 'As you sow, you shall reap'. So, if you have lived a good life you will be rewarded in the afterlife. Similarly your sum of bad deeds will be mirrored in your next life.Good 'Karma' brings good rewards and bad 'karma's lead to bad results. There is no judgment here. People accumulate karma through their actions and even thoughts. In Bhagavad Gita when Arjuna hesitates to kill his kith and kin the lord reprimands him saying thus "Do you believe that you are the doer of the action.No.You are merely an instrument in MY hands.Do you believe that the people in front of you are living? Dear Arjuna they are already dead. As a kshatriyas (warrior class) it is your duty to protect your people and land. If you fail to do your duty then you are not adhering to dharmic principles."

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (French: Organisation Européenne pour la Recherche Nucléaire), known as CERN ( /ˈsɜrn/; French pronunciation: [sɛʁn]), is an international organization whose purpose is to operate the world's largest particle physics laboratory, which is situated in the northwest suburbs of Geneva.

More recently, Fritjof Capra expl
...ained that "Modern physics has shown that the rhythm of creation and destruction is not only manifest in the turn of the seasons and in the birth and death of all living creatures, but is also the very essence of inorganic matter," and that "For the modern physicists, then, Shiva's dance is the dance of subatomic matter."

It is indeed as Capra concluded: "Hundreds of years ago, Indian artists created visual images of dancing Shivas in a beautiful series of bronzes. In our time, physicists have used the most advanced technology to portray the patterns of the cosmic dance. The metaphor of the cosmic dance thus unifies ancient mythology, religious art and modern physics."

Science And Technology In Hindu Mythology

On December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers showed the world that man could fly and the world was astounded. However, when you read ancient mythology stories or epics supposed to have been written thousands of years ago, you find references not just of aircrafts but all kinds of sciences much more advanced than today’s inventions.  Many people have tried to address this missing link between modern science and ancient mysticism. But very rarely has anyone been able to explain the mention of advanced concepts of structural engineering, astronomy, algebra, arithmetic, medicine, botany and technology in Sanskrit literature.
Let us concentrate the aircraft technology mentioned in ancient vedic literature of India. There are many descriptions of flying machines that are generally called Vimanas. Several popular ancient epics describe their use in warfare. The Vaimanika Shastra is an early 20th century Sanskrit text on aeronautics, claimed to be obtained by mental channeling, about construction of vim?nas, the “chariots of the Gods”.  According to an American author “The ancient Hindus could navigate the air, and not only navigate it, but fight battles in it like so many war-eagles combating for the domination of the clouds. To be so perfect in aeronautics, they must have known all the arts and sciences related to the science, including the strata and currents of the atmosphere, the relative temperature, humidity, density and specific gravity of the various gases…”  India had a treasure trove of hitech warfare technology that even the ‘mighty West’ does not possess.
The Brahmastra and Vimana used in the pre-Mahabharata period are nothing but the earlier versions of today’s nuclear weapons and spacecraft.’ The Mahabharata compliments “the all-knowing Yavanas” (sarvajnaa yavanaa, said to mean the Greeks), as the creators of the vimanas: The Yavanas, O king, are all-knowing; the Suras are particularly so (sarvajn? yavan? rajan shur?z caiva vishesatah)
The wonderful epic of the ‘Ramayana’ the inspiration of the world’s great classic literature, intrigues us most today by its frequent allusions to aerial vehicles and annihilating bombs, which we consider to be inventions of our own 20th century impossible in the far past. Students of Sanskrit literature soon revise their preconceived ideas and find that the heroes of Ancient India were apparently equipped with aircraft and missiles more sophisticated than those we boast today.”   In the Ramayana, the pushpaka (“flowery”) vimana of Ravana is described as follows:
“The Pushpaka chariot that resembles the Sun and belongs to my brother was brought by the powerful Ravana; that aerial and excellent chariot going everywhere at will …. that chariot resembling a bright cloud in the sky … and the King [Rama] got in, and the excellent chariot at the command of the Raghira, rose up into the higher atmosphere.’”
According to Dr. Vyacheslav Zaitsev: “the holy Indian Sages, the Ramayana for one, tell of “Two storied celestial chariots with many windows” “They roar like off into the sky until they appear like comets.” The Mahabharata and various Sanskrit books describe at length these chariots, “powered by winged lighting…it was a ship that soared into the air, flying to both the solar and stellar regions.”
Is this discussion just limited to mythology or can we link it to Indian history? I read somewhere that there were wall paintings in some forts in Rajasthan depicting the use of rockets in Mughal warfare and even by Tipu Sultan of Mysore . Another interesting fact he gave was that the spacecraft could become invisible on its own. To the researcher’s bewilderment, a kind of ‘nuclear power’ (‘solar power’ coupled with gamma rays) was used in those days as fuel to propel a rocket.
There are no physical remains of ancient Indian aircraft technology but references to ancient flying machines are commonplace in the ancient Indian texts. . Depending on one’s point of view, either it contains some of the earliest known science fiction, or it records conflict between beings with weapons as powerful and advanced as anything used today.  There have been lots of theories and speculations in this area but there is a lack of concrete evidence to prove it all beyond reasonable doubts. However, let us all remember that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

The Dhwaja stambha at Madurai Meenakshi Temple.

The temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city of Madurai. The complex houses 14 gopurams (gateway towers) ranging from 45-50m in height, the tallest being the southern tower, 51.9 metres (170 ft) high, and two golden sculptured vimana (shrine) over sanctum of the main deities. There is an estimated 33,000 sculptures in the temple and it was in the list of top 30 nominees of the "New Seven Wonders of the World". The temple complex is in around 45 acres (180,000 m2).

SCIENTIFIC REASONS BEHIND THE KALASAM IN TEMPLES ; HIDDEN GREAT HINDUS SCIENCE

Kalasam is the metal part over the temple.. which you can find on most of the Hindus Temple... It as some Scientific reasons why it has placed there before 10000 of years.....

1. Kalasam is aimed at increasing the glory and power of the Hindu deities.

2.According to one of the oldest Tamil proverb (KOVIL ILLA OORIL KUDIYIRUKKA VENDAAM) i.e; Dont live in the place where there is no temple (Transl

ated in English). These kalasam works as a lightning arrestor and protect the near by residents upto 8 kilometers Radius ( Scientifically proven )......

3.Each Kalasam is packed with 50 to 100 kgs of Kambu (Millet).. and thats for when any natural disaster like Tsunami, cyclone, forest fire, flood cause the ppls to lose there life and once after they lose everthing they can take the kalasam and these millets can be used to cultivate and reconstruct there daily needs...

Salute for Great Hindus....!
